Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro Are Live on BananaImage

BananaImage now offers four AI image models: Nano Banana, Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro, and GPT Image 2. All support text-to-image and image-to-image (reference images via image_input). Exact credit cost is shown before you submit.

The short answer

| Model | Best for | Credits (1K / 2K / 4K) | | --- | --- | --- | | Nano Banana | Fast stylized drafts, characters, playful scenes | 40 flat | | Nano Banana 2 | Higher-fidelity Banana-family generations with resolution tiers | 80 / 120 / 180 | | Nano Banana Pro | Top Banana quality when detail and polish matter most | 180 / 180 / 240 | | GPT Image 2 | Literal prompts, product shots, layout / text control | 60 / 100 / 160 |

Pick by job, not by brand: draft cheap with Nano Banana, step up to Nano Banana 2 or Pro when quality needs a bump, switch to GPT Image 2 when the prompt is a strict spec.

What’s new: Nano Banana 2 and Pro

Nano Banana 2 (nano-banana-2) and Nano Banana Pro (nano-banana-pro) sit in the same Banana family as classic Nano Banana, but they accept resolution tiers (1K / 2K / 4K) and charge by tier. Classic Nano Banana stays at a flat 40 credits per image — still the cheapest way to explore ideas.

Both new models accept reference images for image-to-image workflows (mode that allows text-to-image and image-to-image together). Upload a photo, add a prompt, and the model blends them — restyle, re-render, or keep a subject while changing the scene.

Resolution and credits

Where the model and aspect ratio allow it, choose 1K, 2K, or 4K. Higher resolution costs more and takes longer, so iterate at 1K, then re-run the winner at 2K or 4K.

Product credits (10× KIE):

  • Nano Banana 2: 80 (1K) · 120 (2K) · 180 (4K)
  • Nano Banana Pro: 180 (1K) · 180 (2K) · 240 (4K)
  • Nano Banana (legacy): 40 each
  • GPT Image 2: 60 (1K) · 100 (2K) · 160 (4K)

Failed generations are refunded; subscription credits refresh each billing period.

When to use which

Nano Banana — brainstorming, mood boards, character sketches when speed and low cost matter more than max fidelity.

Nano Banana 2 — everyday Banana-quality finals once composition is locked; a clear step up from Nano 1 with explicit 1K/2K/4K pricing.

Nano Banana Pro — hero assets, marketing frames, and anything that needs the strongest Banana-family polish (Pro is already 180 credits at 1K/2K; 4K is 240).

GPT Image 2 — detailed literal prompts, product photography style, or prompts that need precise text and layout.

FAQ

Do Nano Banana 2 and Pro support image-to-image?

Yes. Both take reference images (image_input) for image-to-image as well as text-to-image.

Is classic Nano Banana going away?

No. Nano Banana and GPT Image 2 remain available next to the new models.

Where do I switch models?

In the AI image generator composer — pick the model, set aspect ratio and resolution, and the credit cost updates before you submit.

Try the new lineup

Open the generator, run one prompt through Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro, then compare with Nano Banana or GPT Image 2. For a deeper two-model comparison of the older pair, see Nano Banana vs GPT Image 2.
